Gebeta Help Center
Everything you need to launch and operate your digital QR menu on Gebeta — from signing up to publishing your first menu, taking orders, and managing your team.
1. Getting Started
Gebeta is a multi-tenant digital menu platform. Each business (a "tenant") gets a public, mobile-first menu page reachable via a unique slug — for example gebeta.app/m/your-business. Customers scan a QR code, your menu opens instantly, and they can browse items, leave reviews, or place orders if you enable that feature.
What you need before you begin
- A working email address (this is your account login).
- A business name and a short slug (the URL fragment, lowercase, dashes only).
- Optional: a logo URL, brand colors, social media usernames.
- A payment method to upload proof of payment (mobile money, bank transfer, etc.).
How to sign up
- Visit the Sign up page.
- Choose Sign up, enter your email, password, business name and slug.
- Submit — you'll be sent to the Waiting page where account activation happens.
2. Account & Payment Activation
After signup, your tenant account is created with status pending_payment. Two things must happen before you can access the dashboard:
- Email confirmation. We send a confirmation link to your email. Open it to verify ownership. If it didn't arrive, click Resend confirmation email on the Waiting page.
- Payment approval. Once your email is confirmed, the Waiting page reveals the available payment methods configured by Gebeta administrators. Pick one, transfer the amount for your chosen plan, and upload a screenshot of the receipt along with the amount and an optional note.
A super admin reviews your proof of payment. As soon as it's approved your plan goes active and you're automatically forwarded to the dashboard. You don't need to refresh — the Waiting page polls for status updates.
3. Dashboard Overview
The dashboard is the control center for your menu. The left sidebar groups everything by purpose:
- Menu — your items and categories.
- Branches — multiple locations of the same business.
- Orders — incoming customer orders (when ordering is enabled).
- Payments — payment methods you accept and proof-of-payment history.
- Feedback — reviews and ratings from customers.
- Analytics — visit and engagement metrics.
- Team — invite staff and admins (Grow & Scale plans).
- Activity — audit trail of recent changes.
- Settings — branding, hours, contact info, theme, fonts.
5. Branches
If your business has multiple locations, create a branch for each. One branch should be marked main — that's the default branch shown when a customer opens your bare URL.
- Each branch has its own slug, address, opening hours and contact details.
- Customers can deep-link to a specific branch by adding
?branch=<slug>to the menu URL. - Items and prices can be branch-specific or shared, depending on configuration.
6. Settings & Branding
The Settings page controls how your menu looks and feels. Highlights:
- Logo URL — paste a hosted image URL. Logo upload was removed in favor of URL-only to keep things fast and predictable.
- Theme colors — primary, accent and surface colors expressed as design tokens.
- Company name font — pick a Google Font that's used specifically for your company name on the public page (the rest of the menu uses the default display font).
- Currency — defaults to ETB; USD and GBP also supported.
- Opening hours — per-day schedule shown on the menu.
- Contact — phone, address, map link.
8. Payment Methods
Two distinct payment surfaces exist:
Plan payments (you → Gebeta)
To activate or renew your subscription, upload a proof-of-payment from the Waiting page or the Payments page. A super admin verifies and activates your plan.
Customer payments (your customers → you)
If you accept payments at the table or in-app, configure your payment options in Payments → Methods. Methods can be branch-scoped (only visible to that branch) or global (all branches when no branch is selected).
9. Orders
The Orders page lists customer orders submitted through the public menu cart. For each order you can view items, customer note, contact and status. Update the status as you prepare and deliver the order. Orders can be enabled or disabled per branch in Settings.
10. Feedback & Reviews
Customers can leave reviews on individual items. On the public menu, tapping a product name opens a review modal where they can read existing reviews and submit their own. All reviews appear in the Feedback page of your dashboard so you can monitor and respond.
11. Analytics
The Analytics page shows menu views, item clicks, and engagement trends. Use it to spot best sellers, dead items, and busy hours.
12. Team Members
Owners on Grow and Scale plans can invite team members:
- Open Team → Add member.
- Enter a username (e.g.
john) and pick a role (Admin or Staff). - Gebeta auto-creates a synthetic login (
john@your-slug.nylos.local) and a one-time 10-character password — copy it now and share with the member. - On first login the member is forced to set a new password.
Owners can deactivate or remove members at any time.
Plan limits: Starter = owner only. Grow = 3 total. Scale = 5 total.
13. Activity Log
The Activity page shows the last 90 days of changes — item edits, price changes, availability toggles, settings updates, theme changes and team actions. You can filter by member and action type. The log is immutable.
15. Password & Account
Reset password
On the Sign in page, click Forgot password?, enter your email, and we'll send a recovery link. Open the link, set a new password, and sign back in.
First-login password change
Invited team members are required to change their temporary password the first time they sign in.
16. Plans & Limits
- Starter — owner only, basic menu, no team page.
- Grow — owner + 2 members, branches, orders, analytics.
- Scale — owner + 4 members, full feature access.
See Pricing for current Birr amounts.
17. Troubleshooting
I didn't get the confirmation email
Check spam, then click Resend confirmation email on the Waiting page. The link expires after a while — request a new one if needed.
My payment was uploaded but I'm still on the Waiting page
A super admin needs to approve it. The page auto-refreshes status; once approved you'll be sent straight to the dashboard.
My menu shows the wrong branch
Set the correct branch as main in Branches, or share URLs with the explicit ?branch=<slug> parameter.
I need help that isn't covered here
Reach out via the Contact page and we'll get back to you.
7. Social Media Links
When your tenant is created, Gebeta pre-fills your social URLs using your slug as the username — for example
https://instagram.com/your-slugfor Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Telegram and LinkedIn. Edit any of them in Settings → Social to point to the real handle. Empty fields are hidden on the public page.
